As an active volunteer in the trenches for the Utah GOP, Jon-David has served as a Delegate, Precinct Chair, District Chair, and is currently serving in his second term as a member of the State Central Committee.
Representing Cache County on the State Central Committee, Jon-David has actively supported and co-sponsored resolutions, in some cases in concert with state legislators, bolstering the passage of related state laws. These conservative measures have included support for individual freedom over personal vaccination status, recognizing "equal rights" and "the infinite worth of all individuals" while encouraging policies to prohibit public schools from instructing students that they should be ashamed of their race or that they are inherently a victim or oppressor because of their race, and in support of policies banning so-called affirmation surgeries, hormone therapy, and puberty-blocking procedures done for the purpose of elective gender transitioning on minors.

As a Precinct Chair, Jon-David facilitated meetings with constituents and their representatives and candidates for office by organizing and hosting meet and greets for his neighbors. As a County District Chair, in an election year when many were struggling to return to normal after the Covid-19 pandemic, Jon-David led out by hosting the only in-person training in Cache County for Precinct Chairs.
During law school, Jon-David Jorgensen clerked for the Goldwater Institute in Arizona where he defended clients' freedom of speech, private property rights, and other civil liberties. Jon-David was the initial drafter of legislation passed in Utah in 2021 reducing regulatory burdens on small businesses and entrepreneurs.
